The German Steel Federation (Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl, WV Stahl)

WV Stahl represents the political and economic interests of the German steel industry. It can look back on more than 125 years of activity. Founded in 1874 as the “Verein Deutscher Eisen- und Stahl-Industrieller”, it became the “Wirtschaftsgruppe Eisen schaffende Industrie” in 1935 and then, in 1946, the “Wirtschaftsvereinigung Eisen- und Stahlindustrie” – the organisation that was renamed the German Steel Federation in 1988. WVStahl represents the branch-related political interests of almost all the companies producing steel in Germany, and associated foreign member companies, in politics, in business and to the public. Membership is voluntary.
